✨Tarot for August✨

Energy of August

1.png

Heart:

These three friends are here to remind us that even the smallest task- sorting mushrooms, for instance- can contribute to a greater purpose, especially if it is done with a happy and willing heart.

This month offer your skills to projects that can use them, and don’t be shy about asking others to collaborate on your projects as well. Many hands make light work, as the saying goes, and they also make work much more fun.

Intellect:

Two’s are about choices and decisions. A decision needs to be made at the beginning of this month.

The two of swords is about reason, but the sea and moon show that intuition plays a role in this decision as well. This card tells us that to make a decision well, you have to use everything at your disposal.

Raven’s are Odin’s (the Norse God) companions, Thought and Memory, so your key is to rely on past experience and logic. Once you have all the facts gathered, you must rely on your intuition to know just how to wield those swords. You may be in a complicated situation, but have confidence that when you blend intellect and intuition, you can dance through with grace.

Week 1

9.png

Heart:

The piper comes to the gates of dawn. The melody the Piper plays is a paean to life, both temporal and eternal. Can you hear it? Does your soul stir in response to its call?

Life-giving Sunlight always finds its way through even the most tangled and forbidding of forests.

When Sunlight blesses your first week of a new month, be ready to receive good fortune. This is the most positive card in the whole tarot, assuring you that all will be well. Challenges will be overcome, bright visions will come to pass, spells will succeed, and boons of all kinds are yours for the taking. Things are better than you know. Remember to be grateful this week to kick start a month of blessings.

Intellect:

Do you expect life to be fair?

The justice card isn’t about fairness, by which we usually mean “equality”.

Martin Luther King Jr. said the moral arc of the universe is long and bends towards justice. This card is about true justice, about doing what’s right, about restoring balance, and about taking responsibility for actions.

Depending on your behaviour, this card may be welcomed or feared, it may feel like you can’t see justice at work because sometimes it takes a while and sometimes you don’t know the whole story. The bottom line of this card is that whatever bed you’ve made, August you need to sleep in it.

Firstly, make sure you aren’t fretting about fairness, about everyone having equal shares. That’s not realistic or mature. If you are certain your actions have been in alignment with your own highest values, stand your ground and trust that justice will prevail eventually. When it does, be as gracious about it as possible. If you know you haven’t behaved according to your ideals, then don’t try to argue or defend yourself. The scales say in August it’s time to acknowledge the mistake and accept the consequences. The sword and and wand remind us to learn from experience and resolve to live more impeccably in the future.

Week 2

4.png

Heart:

This week it’s important you gather your inner resources and replenish your spiritual strength. Use this week to find some peace, even if you still have challenges ahead. Determine what sanctuary looks and feels like, and then consciously create it for yourself.

Taking time out in the midst of conflict often leads to greater clarity and a solution at hand. There is nothing to gain by pursuing a challenge at hand this week. Step back and breathe... rest and soothe your spirit!

5.png

Intellect:

Like all things, stability is not good or bad in itself. Its appropriateness is determined by the situation. Not all energy does well in a stable environment. We know that life, time, energy, everything is always in motion, but there are times when the flow slows down, as close to a standstill as it can get. That is what this week is about.

The Fours represent this experience, they seem almost like a container, like a square box, holding the essence of each suit,  they halt your progress- and this is not always bad thing. When nothing seems to move, no new energy comes in, and no existing energy moves out.

This week is about accepting where you are rather than trying to make things happen. Don’t fight it, just be and see!

Week 3

7.png

Heart:
The Faery Wind is a powerful sign of ultimate success. Only the most fortunate see the Fae, though many have felt their passing. From the previous week of stepping back the energy shifts to a faster speed for you now, and your endeavours will flow swiftly towards a positive outcome. Continue forward with increased confidence.

In the traditional tarot ,this is the chariot card and is a reminder that when you apply discipline, commitment and willpower to achieve your goals, you will succeed.

The faeries follow their own path, and you now must follow yours.

Intellect:

Swords represent air, the mind, intellect, logic, thoughts, communication, truth, problems, solutions, and action.

Fives are chaotic, bringing movement to a stagnant situation or exasperating an already confused one. They can either create new problems or, if we are lucky, bring fresh solutions.

The Five of Swords, advices you this week that your plan for victory may bring about your desired short-term outcome, but asks you to consider, if that is really what you want in the long-term. Think about if you’re clinging too tightly to black and white ideas of “truth”. When you get too caught up in your own notions of what is true and right, you may try to silence those who hold oppressing opinions. Know that by silencing others, you don’t really convince them; you just take away their power, for a little while, and leave them feeling resentful and defensive.. Besides being a bad strategic move, It’s just not very nice.

It’s important for you to consider if you want to be the person you want to be, rather than to win at any price, especially if the outcome isn’t what you really wanted. Think over this and see which part of your life this is referring to and rework your strategy.

Week 4

3.png

Heart:

The weaver of boons knows just what you need. When you visit her cottage in the forest clearing, the aura of peace and plenty embraces you. She treasures both the wildness of the woods and the beauty of her well- tender garden. She is the preserver, nurturer, and healer, feeding both body and spirit with motherly love.

If this card does not represent a particular person, it can indicate a need this week for common sense, an offering of comfort and care and even a monetary windfall.

Weavers can bring forth positive qualities in others, so weave your magic this week for yourself and those around you. Now is a time of nurturing for self and those around us that need it.

6.png

Intellect:

The Magician’s power comes from whatever he believes the source of magic is as well as his belief in magic.

The infinity symbol on his hat and the position of his arms show that he channels magical energy from that place and directs it to earth in order to create change in the world. This is what magic is.

But with the Ouroboros, a snake eating it’s tail, doing magic on earth is really a metaphor for the inner work of self-transformation which needs to be your focus this week.

The red and white flowers remind you to make sure you are connected to your higher self, deity, higher values... whatever serves as your personal North Star... so that your intentions are both pure and in line with your will. Make sure you are confident with your ability to work with the necessary elements- as represented by the wand, cup, sword and pentacle - to achieve your goal.

I Wish You an Aware August!
Love and Light
