Reading for April 2019
Adventure isn’t just about mountains in Tibet. It can be saying YES to trying something new.
April is the month to release your own inner tiger of speculation. Open up that old journal where you wrote down all those crazy things you would do “if” ...
“If” is here this month and it’s time to start taking risks. Don’t hold back. Don’t let your fears drown out your sense of adventure. You are being given the gift of a flying leap. Take it and see where you go this month. You can take small leaps as long as you keep taking them. Don’t judge your level of grand adventure against someone else. Do what feels right, but do it now...
In the image of this card, two children are taking the ride of a lifetime. They are leaving their dreary, mundane world behind them as the tiger leaps over the waves, those waves are the fears we teach ourselves. They represent our “I can’t”, “I shouldn’t”, and “I’ll get into trouble if I do”. They are all ways we limit our yearning’s, our longing, our need for adventure. The tiger is that desire to do something that no one thinks we can or should do. By riding that wild wish, these children are off on an extraordinary journey...
💙🌹"I Speak In Alignment Of My Most Authentic Truth” 💙🌹
This open-hearted woman has learned that sharing herself with someone else can help her grow. She whispers to her truest friend, the fox, who listens intently to her dreams, her fears, her hopes, and her losses so that they are heard. Even when she can’t find the fox, she knows she can breathe that part of herself out to the flowers and the trees. When she shares herself with nature, she feels connected to the universe, to the world...
Ask Yourself:
🌹 Where is my favourite spot to be in nature?
🌹What would I tell someone if I could share anything?
🌹What is my biggest fear about confiding in another person?
This month, allow someone you trust to hear your hidden secrets. Don’t bottle them up. There’s no need to tell the whole world your most treasured stories or your worst nightmares. Just find that one person who will listen to you as you listen to them.
Unfold the pages of your unwritten journal. Let them read those delicate parchment desires. Be brave enough to whisper what you really need to share with that one special confidante. And if that companion isn’t here yet, take heart. They are on their way to you. For now, Speak those hopes and fears to the trees and the flowers so that your voice can be heard.
Affirmations To Work With This Month:
💙 I Have A Voice. I Claim My Voice.
💙 I Speak My Truth.
💙 I am Listening And I am Heard.
💙 I Speak In Alignment Of My Most Authentic Truth.
“Let Your Faith Be Bigger Than Your Fear”.
Why feed a tiger strawberries? Perhaps to share a simple joy or maybe it is to overcome a fear.
Ask Yourself:
💛What does trust feel like to me?
💛Where is it hardest for me to be trusting?
The tiger is wary of the unusual offering and the barefoot young woman is cautious of the tiger. Both must learn to trust the other if they want to move beyond fear. When we encounter something we don’t know or don’t understand, we might do better to approach it like this tiger sniffing the ripe red berry. Perhaps the berry won’t be to the tiger’s taste, but then again, maybe it will be.
This makes us think about how we could be
prejudging someone or something?
Without experiencing something, are you denying something or someone simply from fear? What might be lost if the tiger didn’t try the fruit or if the women didn’t offer it? Consider the position of the owl who merely observes.
You are being asked now to trust in the gift being offered to you at this time. Have faith that the giver has good intentions. They are not out to deceive you. There are no unsavoury things hidden in the offering.
All is as it seems- a real offer of friendship.
The owl watching the scene in this card represents our own native wisdom. When we listen to our gut, we can move past our fears. A simple pleasure can be shared with another without any hidden agenda or messages. Remember that trust is a two way street. Be open to what comes your way, and have faith in yourself to know what is good.
“Fear is only as deep as the mind allows.”
Ask Yourself:
💚 Am I the Tiger, the Girl or the Owl? 💚
An unexpected source may carry important information for you. Actively listening with your complete attention will help you learn. April is the time to be open to the wisdom that others bring to you. Don’t think about your next statement. Honour the speaker by using your ears twice as much as your mouth.
Ensure you create a space that invites open dialogue. When you are quiet, others respond with their own words. Remember your gift as a listener is to ask questions that will foster more conversation.
In the image of the card the women gently listens to the song of a red-winged blackbird. The bird perches on her finger to deliver its earnest message. Because the woman is fully engaged in what the bird offers, the bird will come back to her again and again. The bird knows that his music will not be interrupted until he is done. Then she will ask questions that will help her learn the meaning of his song. There is trust here because both the woman and the bird ‘listen’ to one another.
❤️Consciously make space for listening more than responding in conversations this month. Focus on how you can be a better listener! ❤️
“Love What You Have While You Have It”
Each day is born only because the old day is gone. Nothing can stay exactly the same without stagnation. The masked lady wears butterflies in her hair to remind herself that some things are impermanent. The barn owl that perches on her hand so gently is about to leave her. There is no animosity between them but the owl cannot thrive here with her. So it must fly off to be an owl and do owlish things. She understands but is still sad to say goodbye. She knows even when the owl returns, things will be different between them.
This card is a reminder that energy spent on sorrow is energy you can’t use towards seeking joy. See the symbiotic nature of the owl on her fist. She doesn’t hold on to the bird... the bird is there by choice. Even when someone or something leaves your immediate sphere, they are still in your heart. The lesson is to learn to release a person or a situation with love and joy.
An important question to ask yourself now is; What can I do to embrace the joy of what and who I have right now?
This card isn’t only about someone or something leaving but it is also about reminding you how precious people and situations are in the moment. We all get so lost and wrapped up in our own worlds we forget to stop and appreciate people, places and things we have in our lives. This month daily make yourself a promise to acknowledge, appreciate and love the many blessings present in your life in this moment.
💜Wish You An Adventurous, Soul Awakening April 💜
